“Belintersat” (http://en.belintersat.com/) is the name of the National System of Satellite Communication and Broadcast of the Republic of Belarus, which is being created at the moment. It is the largest project of high innovative, economic, social and political importance, implemented by the country in the field of telecommunications.
Works on the system creation began in the middle of 2013, when decisions were taken to organize the geostationary satellite manufacturing in China and the Ground Control Station construction in the country’s own territory.
The BELINTERSAT-1 satellite was launched on January 16, 2016 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (People's Republic of China). It is placed at the orbital position 51.5 ° east and is expected to provide a full range of advanced satellite services in Europe, Africa and Asia for the next 15 years.
